El Milongón

A bit of history..
The environment where the "milongón" was cultivated in colonial Montevideo was outside the city walls. Later, in the second half of the 19th century and until the beginning of the 20th century, the "milongón" was played in the bodegones of the Old City and Aguada neighborhood and in the dance halls such as Luciano Fonseca's in Unión neighborhood or Paso del Molino neighborhood.
It is purely Uruguayan music, from Montevideo, of Afro-descendant origin.

We present a show with an important musical and choreographic display of folklore, tango, milonga and candombe that will make you move.
"El Milongón" is a unique show in Uruguay, in which we offer our visitors the possibility of approaching the most representative artistic expressions of our cultural heritage, as well as enjoying typical dishes of our gastronomy and checking the recognized quality of our wines.
